FAA-PMA & Owner-Operator Solutions

The PMA
Process

From a brilliant idea, a service complaint, or a serious need — ANB Aviation Parts, LLC guides customers from concept through FAA approval and into production. Our qualified staff are ready to deliver PMA and owner-operator solutions depending on your specific need.

Parts Manufacturer Approval — Explained

A Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) is an FAA authorization that allows a company to manufacture and sell replacement or modification parts for type-certificated aircraft. PMA parts must meet the same airworthiness standards as OEM parts — and in many cases, exceed them.

ANB Aviation Parts holds FAA PMA approval PQ1730CE, authorizing us to design, manufacture, and sell replacement parts for a wide range of commercial, regional, and general aviation aircraft platforms — all made in the USA.

"The PMA process begins with a brilliant idea, a service complaint, or a serious need. ANB Aviation Parts, LLC staff are well qualified to provide FAA-PMA part and owner-operator solutions depending on customer need."

Whether you need a cost-effective replacement for an overpriced OEM part, a solution for an obsolete component, or an improved design that addresses a recurring service issue — ANB has a path forward for you.

The PMA Process, Step by Step

From first conversation to parts on the shelf — here is exactly how ANB takes a customer need through to FAA-approved production.

01
Step One
Initial Consultation with a Technical Director

The PMA process typically begins with a conversation with one of our technical directors. During this phase we identify your specific issue and explore all the options available to achieve the results you are looking for. There are no wrong questions — whether you have a vague idea or a fully defined part need, we help shape the path forward.

  • Identify the specific part, platform, and operational issue
  • Evaluate whether PMA or owner-operator approval is the right path
  • Discuss timeline, cost savings potential, and feasibility
  • No obligation — just a direct conversation with an expert
02
Step Two
Design, Material Analysis & Engineering

Improving an outdated design or providing cost savings over ever-increasing OEM prices — ANB is ready to provide solutions. Our team conducts thorough material analysis, plans the manufacturing approach, and applies specialized processes to engineer a replacement or improved component.

  • Full material analysis and selection for airworthiness compliance
  • Engineering review to meet or exceed OEM design specifications
  • Opportunity to improve on flawed or obsolete original designs
  • Specialized manufacturing processes and tooling development
03
Step Three
FAA Demonstration & Testing

Our team, through various demonstrations, must show the FAA that our design meets or exceeds all safety standards set forth. This portion varies according to the complexity of the part in question. We rely only on the most up-to-date techniques and tests to ensure we are providing the best quality, conformity, and airworthiness.

  • Functional and structural testing tailored to the part type
  • Conformity inspections to validate manufactured parts match design
  • Test reports and data packages prepared for FAA review
  • Coordination with the FAA Aircraft Certification Office throughout
04
Step Four
FAA Approval

Ultimately, we seek approval from the FAA prior to production. This approval is granted when the FAA is satisfied that the proposed part has been fully vetted to meet the requirements of the design. No part enters production until this milestone is achieved — your assurance that every ANB part is fully certified and airworthy before it reaches your aircraft.

  • FAA reviews complete design and test data package
  • PMA approval issued — authorizing production and sale
  • Each production unit traceable to the approved design
  • Full airworthiness documentation provided with every part
05
Step Five
Production, Stock & Delivery

From concept to completion, you can be assured that our parts meet or exceed the OEM standard. Material analysis, manufacturing, and specialized processes give our customers a real path to success — with resolution of supply chain shortage, excessive cost, and concern over current supplier quality. Once in production, ANB parts are never back-ordered.

  • Parts manufactured in the USA to approved design
  • Stocked continuously — zero back orders on held PMA parts
  • 50%+ cost savings over OEM pricing on every order
  • Complete 8130-3 airworthiness documentation included

The Case for PMA Parts

PMA isn't a shortcut — it's a smarter path. Here's why operators choose ANB PMA parts over OEM.

01
Same Airworthiness Standard

FAA-PMA parts must meet the exact same airworthiness requirements as the OEM part. The FAA reviews and approves every design before a single unit is produced. You get identical safety — not a compromise.

02
50%+ Cost Savings

Without OEM brand premiums, global supply chain markups, and layers of distributor margins, ANB PMA parts deliver average savings of 50% or more — directly improving your maintenance budget on every order.

03
No Back Orders

OEMs routinely discontinue parts or let inventory run thin. ANB stocks everything it holds PMA on — so when you need a part, it ships. No back orders, no long lead times, no grounded aircraft waiting on a supplier.

04
Obsolescence Solutions

When an OEM stops supporting a part entirely, operators have no options — unless they have ANB. We reverse-engineer and certify PMA solutions for parts that the OEM has discontinued, keeping legacy fleets flying.

05
Design Improvement

PMA isn't just about replacing a part — it's an opportunity to fix one. When an OEM design has a recurring service issue, ANB can engineer an improved solution that eliminates the problem entirely, as we did with our PPG windshield AD elimination.

06
Made in the USA

Every ANB part is designed and manufactured in the United States — meaning tighter quality control, full domestic supply chain visibility, and parts you can trust from material to delivery.

The Right Solution for Every Operator

Whether you're an airline, a regional carrier, a charter operator, or a maintenance facility — ANB has a PMA solution that fits your operation.
